Domaine Constant-Duquesnoy
Unlike many new Belgian winemakers, Gérard Constant did not fall for a captivating building – in other words, for real estate - but began by investing in the purchase of 12 hectares of vines in Vinsobres, in the Drôme department, about thirty kilometres to the north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. What’s more, these weren’t just any vines: they were from the Domaine Les Ausellons, considered in his time by Parker to be "one of the three best properties" of the appellation. Gérard Constant has now also acquired plots in the Cairanne appellation.
Les Rizannes
The grape varieties that make up this cuvée come from plots located at an altitude of 200 metres in Mirabel aux Baronnies, with limestone soils. Yield of 29 hl/ha.
Three weeks of fermentation and six months of ageing in stainless steel tanks. no wood: that's great!
This micro-cuvée of 5,200 bottles is sold in just a few months and we are therefore very happy to be able to submit it to your curiosity.
Pale yellow colour.
Nose with floral and white fruits aromas.
The palate is round and well-balanced, with a slight tension. Superb freshness on the finish.
Paired with grilled fish, creamed poultry and cheeses.
8-10°C
As this wine is not fined, it is vegan friendly.
