Château de Suronde
Château de Suronde is located in the heart of the Quarts de Chaume appellation, the only Grand Cru in the Loire Valley. Its Belgian owners, Kathleen Van den Berghe and Sigurd Mareels, have converted the 7-hectare vineyard to biodynamics and boosted biodiversity by replanting hedges and installing bat roosts, among other things. Ten hectares of farmland and forests surround the vineyard. The absolutely magical place serves as a residence for young Belgian artists who take advantage of their stay to illustrate the labels of a vintage wine.
Coteaux du Layon
Less confidential (and less expensive) than the Quarts de Chaume, the Coteaux du Layon is a sweet wine of great aromatic richness. It is matured in stainless steel vats and bottled in the spring following the harvest.
Golden colour.
Fruity nose with hints of honey and quince.
Fresh palate dominated by exotic fruits (pineapple) and candied fruits. Very nice length.
Perfect with parsleyed cheese or Herve.
10-12 °C
