Wijnhoeve d'Hellekapelle
Carine and Michel Dehem run a B&B in Loker, a charming village in Heuvelland. They have added a small vineyard, which has recently expanded with the addition of 6,000 new vines to the existing 3,000. Half of the two-hectare vineyard (4,500 vines) is planted to Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Auxerrois making up the remaining half. The couple have just invested in brand new facilities - vat room, barrel cellar and tasting room. "My wife says I've gone crazy," smiles Michel Dehem.
Pinot Noir
The Pinot Noir from d'Hellekapelle is a real nugget, but not widely available. We are therefore delighted to have it back in our range!
This very well-balanced wine has been aged for a year in used French oak barrels.
Ruby-coloured robe of medium intensity.
The nose is still a little closed, with orange blossom, red berries and light peppery notes.
Ample mouthfeel, fine and melted tannins, good aromatic persistence.
A piece of red meat or poultry in sauce. A spicy exotic dish.
15-16 °C. Airing it before tasting gives it more amplitude.
