Septem Triones
Thirty grape varieties on a third of a hectare: the Septem Triones vineyard is a fascinating wine laboratory. Forget Jean Galler the chocolate maker and get to know Jean Galler the winemaker "from the North".
Syrah 2018
We are very pleased to be able to offer you, at the estate's price, a small batch of this micro-cuvée, of which the 59 copies are numbered. Blinded, the result is bluffing: one would think one is heading north to the Rhone Valley.
Yields are limited to 22 hl/ha and perfectly ripe berries are harvested by hand. Classic vinification without fining or addition of sulphites (only a few grams added at bottling). Ageing in small oak barrels: in order to have barrels of second wine at his disposal, Jean Galler bought 60 litres of organic wine and let it sleep for a while in his new barrels.
Fairly dense garnet colour.
Very complex nose with ripe black fruits and a hint of black pepper.
Structured on the palate. Fairly long finish marked by fine tannins.
Is sufficient on its own :-)
16-17 °C. A wine that can be kept for a long time, especially given its concentration in tartaric acid.
Total SO2: 15 mg/l
