Le Vignoble Thudinien
In 2001 Philippe Dumont, owner of the Biercée Distillery, responded to a call for projects from the commune of Thuin and took up the slightly crazy challenge of planting vines in the terraced gardens that cascade down from the town centre. A thousand Regent vines were to be planted on nine plots covering a total area of 30 ares. Despite successive changes of ownership at the head of the Biercée Distillery, the Clos des Zouaves continues to be vinified and bottled there on behalf of the non-profit association Le Vignoble Thudinien.
Clos des Zouaves
The disastrous harvest of 2012 prompted the association Le Vignoble Thudinien to develop a fortified sweet wine obtained by mutage, along the lines of the natural sweet wines from the South of France. It proved highly successful and in 2013 they opted to concentrate solely on this red dessert wine.
Rubis-coloured robe of medium intensity.
Allow the wine to breathe in the glass to release its red fruit aromas.
Voluptuous in the mouth, marked by elegance. Impression of biting into crystallised cherries.
A chocolate dessert makes the perfect pairing.
12-14°C
