Château Bon Baron
A spirit of perseverance: that’s probably what best characterizes Jeanette van der Steen and her husband, Piotr, who planted their first vines in 2003 for private use and today own over 17 hectares, 15 of which are in a single block on the banks of the Meuse river. These two economists, who came from the Netherlands to live in the countryside in Wallonia, have built up one of the most renowned vineyards in Belgium.
Acolon
This grape variety was created in Germany in the early 1970s by crossing the Lemberger and the Dornfelder. It ripens early and is fairly resistant to grey rot, making it ideal for our northern climes. Acolon produces fairly powerful wines. This leading cuvée from Château Bon Baron was matured in French oak casks for 12 months.
Dense, dark robe. Fine tears.
Red and black fruits on the nose, with spicy aromas.
Rich in the mouth, balanced finish on fine tannins.
Holds its own well with game. But we also like the combination with dark chocolate!
17-18 °C
