Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen
Originally from the Netherlands, Jaap van Rennes settled in northern Belgium having made his fortune, like a number of his compatriots. A few years ago, he handed over the reins of the Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen vineyard to his daughter, Joyce, who studied oenology in France. So she is one of the few female winemakers in Belgium! With production covering 22 hectares, Genoels-Elderen is currently the largest winemaking domain in Flanders. Its wines, based on the emblematic grape varieties of Burgundy (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), are of outstanding quality.
Zwarte Parel Brut
This "Black pearl" is a vintage Blanc de Blancs made according to the traditional method. Fermentation and maturation in vats on lees, two years on laths before disgorgement.
Golden colour of medium intensity.
Aromas of exotic fruits and citrus fruits: pineapple, melon, grapefruit and lemon.
Nice freshness, frank acidity, nice finish.
Best served as an aperitif or to round off a very fine evening.
