Wijndomein Entre-Deux-Monts
Right at the very tip of Belgium, where the Flemish and the French rub shoulders and the slopes dream of being mountains, lies the spot where Martin Bacquaert has his roots and produces elegant, thoroughbred wines. His domain is called Entre-Deux-Monts – between two mountains – logically enough, since it nestles between Mont Rouge and Mont Noir, both firmly anchored on the French-Belgian border. Entre-Deux-Monts covers now 18 hectares planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Auxerrois, Kerner (Riesling family) and Siegerrebe (Gewürztraminer family). In 2018, Martin Bacquaert planted new Acolon vines, which until then had been the sole prerogative of the Château Bon Baron in Wallonia.
Bacquaert Brut
A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Bacquaert Brut is made using the traditional method and matured on slats for 30 months. It contains 35% reserve wine aged in French and American oak barrels.
Pale gold robe. Fine bubbles form a superb chain of pearls. Lasting mousse.
The nose is elegant, distinguished, mineral with hints of fruit.
Citrus fruit flavours, floral and mineral hints.
Its strength is such that the aperitif will need zakouskis. Also ideal with a fine fish terrine.
